| Well, last week of school is here and it is definitely the busiest yet, I guess it sort of makes up for the rest of the semester where I didn't have to do much at all. I'm starting to feel restless already, ready to go on and get the next part of my life started. I'm getting tired of just being here and learning, which I enjoy, but I want to get started on a career and getting my own life started...I just have to decide what that is going to be. Also, I can't decide whether I want to move off campus next year or become a resident assistant. With becoming a resident assistant comes free room and board which means about $6,500 a year saved, but also, how much fun would it be to start to live on your own (with a couple other guys) have bills to pay every month, learn how to cook, and lots of other good stuff like that. I'm not sure which is better right now. Living off campus would be cheaper than living on campus if I had to pay for it. I can eat for less than the $5.50 a meal I pay right now.
Last night at prayer, we all spent a few minutes just being quiet and listening to God, something that we normally don't take time to do. God spoke to many of us and it was encouraging to hear what he had to say. But as I was being still, I was marveling at how great God's love and care for us is; how intimate it is. He says that he works all things together for the good of those that are called according to his purpose. He does not look over any detail to work toward the good of those that he loves. As I was thinking about how he prepares and makes a way for us, I was thinking about the path that we follow, a path that has a goal. So many have paths that they follow with that are not prepared. It may at the start look like the best one to follow, but since they don't have it prepared for them, it may lead to a dead end, making them turn around and try and start again, looking for another path that looks, good. Or, after they they follow the path, they may be hesitant to turn around, because they don't know any other path that might be better, thus they push on through thorns and thistles and eventually they become lost, loose the path that they thought they had and have no place to go so they wander through the wilderness. But, as Christians, we have a path that leads somewhere....It leads to God....how cool is that. Our path has a guaranteed goal and God is preparing that path for us. Sometimes that path is clear and paved and we can run on that path with what looks to be the goal clearly ahead, but at times that path may be hard to see and covered by lots of of stuff that is all around and not possible to avoid, leaves and sticks make it hard to see where we are supposed to be going, or there may seem to be paths branching off in every direction. We can choose to stop and sit still for a while and wait for it to become clear, but at times there is no clearing in near sight. We can either then choose to sit still, camp out, or we can choose to step forward in faith, knowing that God will provide us a way if we are trusting him and relying on what we know the signs of his path that he has prepared for us to look like. Then when things do clear off, how much farther ahead are we going to be than the person who chose to sit still and wait it out until there was no end in sight? God will reward your steps of faith and work all things together for your good because he is calling you and will not let you loose your way. As we walk along this path, this wonderful path that has a goal, a good end, we should reach out to others along the way that are lost, or stumbling along the path they thought would lead them somwhere, but has instead disappointed, and left them lost. We are called to reach a hand out and try and show them the goal that our path has, the amazing prize that is at the end, the Gates of Glory that we at the end get to go through where somebody is waiting to greet us. The one who has made the path possible.

| Well, it has been a while,
So the semester is halfway over, but it has gone by so fast. I think that is because my class load has been light. In times past things would drag on and I would live weekend to weekend. Not this semester. I only have 14 hours and they are not as difficult as I anticipated them being. At the beginning of the semester I was bored at times Thus, I got a job. I'm working at Papa John's as a pizza delivery person. Right now I'm working 3 nights a week for 5 hours at a time. It is pretty sweet. I just drive around, listening to music or whatever I feel like, then drop off pizzas and pick up tips from people. I normally make somewhere between 11-15 dollars an hour, enough to have some change in the wallet. On another note, I went to a Newsboys, Kutless concert which was pretty awesome. I'm not the Newsboys' biggest fan, but they put on a good show and have some good stuff to say, plus they talk funny because they are from Australia. I enjoy that. And by the way, I'm going to the men's conference in Arizona so I'm looking forward to seeing some of you California guys.
God bless, Jamin

| ahhh, this thing still works. Already summer is half over. It has seemed to go by so fast which is in stark contrast to last summer which dragged by ever so slowly. Three days after I got out of school I started working as a farm hand for a man in our church who raises steers for commercial beef as well as supplying some of the church members including our family with fresh beef. Our family bought half a cow from him and let me tell you, it is the best beef I have ever had. His family's farm is located near Humbolt, Kansas which has a population of about 1200. It is a very small town. You can tell this because people start by giving you directions to places by telling you to go to the stoplight (only one stoplight in town). However, Humbolt is not as small as Piqua which is a couple miles away. Piqua only has about 150 people. They are not big enough to have a stoplight. The atmosphere is very different then what I am used to coming from two large metropolitan areas (Los Angeles and Kansas City). In Humbolt everybody knows everybody. They also talk different. People around that area seem to have either a Virginian southern accent or a light mumbled southern accent with "that there" used every few sentences. I am staying in our family's camping trailer which is nice because I have a way to escape their 4 young girls. This has helped me get some more time to myself in the evening and I can play my guitar and watch 24 on DVD without disturbing them. have been doing many different things on the farm. I bucket feed his natural beef cows in the morning and evening, I help him do maintenance on his machines, building shelves, helping his family mow their home, farm yard and two cemeteries, I scraped and then spread all of the manure out of the cow pens, help him hay, do general clean up, run errands, clean out gutters, do some plumbing, and a few other little things. In general, the work has not been nearly as hard as I was expecting. We use machines for just about everything. I am now quite competent with a skid-steer and can drive a large tractor. The hours have varied a lot. There have been a couple of weeks where I have worked 70 hours, but others that have only been about 40 because of rain. The amount of rain that they have been getting is insane. Last weekend I was not able to get home because there was so much flooding. The highway was under water because they had over 16 inches of rain in three days and over 22 for the week. That is almost 2/3 of their yearly average. All of the rain has been hurting my hours because we have not been able to do much haying since the fields have been too wet to drive the tractors in. I hope that the last month will be dry enough to get some more haying done so that I can get some good hours in. California was awesome. I'll post on that later.
God bless, Jamin

| oooh, this things still works....
Hey guys, what's up? Summer break is here. I started it off by going to see Spiderman 3 at midnight with my sister, then by sleeping in until noon. That's that way that summer is supposed to be done right there. My sister had to get up at 6:45 the next morning to go to school, hehe. Well, I survived the 19.5 hours this semester. I was getting a little burned out the last couple weeks, but I think I pulled it off. Next semester I'm only going to have 14.5 hours but I don't know if it is actually going to be any easier. I am going to be taking Physics, Organic chemistry I, for General Education, either Medicine Money and Morals, or U.S. Pluralism, rock climbing (again), and going to be the shepherd director in the freshman guys dorm. 3rd year in the freshman guys dorm should be fun. For the rest of the summer I am going to be working on a farm in souther Kansas. One of the families in our church raises cattle. I am going to be living in our trailer down on their property. It is an amazing opportunity that God has provided me with because they are flexible so I can take a couple of vacations this summer i.e. Florida, New Attitude young adults conference, and California to see one of my best buds get married to an awesome young lady. Working on the farm is also good because they are going to let me work as many hours as I want and since I am going to be living down there with not a whole lot else to do, I should get a lot of hours which = a lot of money. Call me this summer guys. I should have plenty of time in the evenings to talk.
God bless,
Jamin

| Each player starts with six weird things about themselves. People
who get tagged have to write a blog of their own six weird things as
well as state the rules clearly. In the end choose six people to be
tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a message
saying "You've been tagged" and tell them to read your blog.
1. I can probably count on my fingers how many people have seen my bottom teeth. I can't bring my bottom lip far enough down to show them.
2. I can curl my bottom lip back into my mouth. I haven't found anybody else that can do that.
3. My second toe on my foot is about a quarter inch longer then my big toe, My third toe is the same length as my big toe. I was got called an alien as a kid. (Luke).
4. I'm a biology major, but my classes aren't enough. In my free time I'll read books or science articles on the internet.
5. If I push on my biceps, my fingers will leave an imprint until I move them. It looks really weird.
6. My place ever is back behind the falls in Eaton canyon. It as an awesome hike. Glad you found that Luke.
I tag Scott, Adam, Sarah, Andrea, and Amanda.
